How to lower your blood pressure

Many people suffer with high blood pressure and some people don’t even realize that they have high blood pressure. Those that know they have it try to find ways to lower their blood pressure without the use of medication. Unfortunately, sometimes proper diet and exercise does not always help and you do need to seek the advice of a medical professional. But there are things that you can do at home to help lower your blood pressure. Generally there are four rules that apply to lowering your blood pressure on your own, naturally. Those four basic rules would be - keep your weight down, control the amount of stress you have, exercise and of course, eat healthy.

Keep your weight down
It is well known that the more weight you have on your body the more health problems you have. Many people that are overweight find they have high blood pressure. Once they lose the weight their blood pressure problems seem to disappear or drastically decrease. This is one of the most natural ways is that you can help to lower your blood pressure.

Control the amount of stress you have
Many people do not realize that stress can play a big part with high blood pressure. The more stress you have the higher your blood pressure can go. If you find that you’re one of the people that suffer from a great deal of stress, whether it be from personal problems, dealing with family issues or even work-related issues, then you want to find ways to help reduce your stress. Some people look into such things as yoga to help relieve stress. You can even try reading a book which takes your mind off of the other things that are going on around you and can help reduce stress.

Exercise
It is well known that when you have a very sedentary lifestyle you can have more health issues. Just sitting around all the time watching TV or sitting in front of a computer can make your body out of shape. You need to get up and get moving. When you get your blood flowing it helps improve your overall health. So try to incorporate it least 30 minutes of exercise into your day at least three times a week.

Eat Healthy
Everyone knows they should have healthy eating habits, but most of us do not follow that. Unfortunately what we put into our body can affect us greatly health wise. The more fried foods and junk food you eat, the worse off you are. You want to incorporate healthy eating into your diet to keep your body running as it should. With a healthy diet you can help decrease many health issues such as high blood pressure as well as high cholesterol. Check with your doctor before starting any type of diet. This way he or she can help you in choosing the diet that meets your needs without putting the major restrictions on you.
